Dr Johnny Mansour is a lecturer in Middle Eastern history. He studied Islam and Middle Eastern history at Haifa University. He completed his PhD at the University of Saint Petersburg in 1998 on the Medieval Muslim and Christian manuscripts of the 10th century. His research is focused in four main fields: Islam and Middle Eastern history; Arab Christians in Palestine and the Middle East; the Israeli-Arab conflict and Palestinian cities, with an emphasis on the city of Haifa.
He has published several books and research studies in his fields of interest. He is currently working on the issue of refugees in the Middle East. It is a comparative research study between the Palestinian refugees of 1948 and the Syrian refugees of the current Syrian crisis, with a focus on the solidarity movements of local societies when the issue of refugees arises.
