Context
Cambridgeshire is home to numerous institutes of higher education such as the
University of Cambridge (Founded in founded in the 13th century, 1209 it is
recognised as the world’s fourth oldest surviving university and one of the leading
world-wide): Anglia-Ruskin University; The Open University; Cambridge Regional
College; Ridley Hall, and The Abbey College, to name a few. In total, it houses
over 60,000 students and 10,000 members of staff. Paired with its science and 2
business parks, Cambridge is considered a world-class leading knowledge
incubator and innovation generator.
Furthermore, Cambridgeshire has a comprehensive educational system,
comprised of twelve independent schools and over two hundred and forty state
schools (which do not include sixth form colleges) numerous of which are
considered to be the best in the world.
Cambridge (UK) is one of the most influential and powerful academic hubs in the
world. It houses many colleges, research centres, think tanks, laboratories and
institutes including the fourth oldest surviving university in the world. It is referred
to as an academic town: a “studium generale”, attracting visitors from all across
the world.
Our initiative, the CCPS, is an added value to this very privileged environment of
scholarship advancement.
